Barranquilla Cultural Capital 2013 - Response
1. Why was Barranquilla chosen?
Because the Mayoralty of the city was managing some months ago for being the American Capital of Culture this year. And when the president of the Cultural Capitals International Bureau visited our city, he got impressed by the commitment that has Barranquilla to be a cultural city, and the international vision that it has too.
2. Will Barranquilla receive any of the economic benefits Liverpool hoped to from being named a cultural capital?
No, it won't. The fact that Barranquilla have been named a Cultural Capital is a recognition for the efforts that it has done for a determined period of time. But this is a great opportunity to let other countries know more about Barranquilla and its culture.

ResponderEliminarI'am so proud of my city being the capital of culture, but we have still a lot of work to do. Barranquilla has such a huge touristic-economic potential that the citizens by their own just haven't known how to use. But hey, we are vigorous people, someday we'll turn this marvellous land in the world capital of culture.
